“He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.” – Deuteronomy 10:21
On a family vacation this past week, we embarked on a journey to the top of Mt. LeConte in Tennessee. I say “journey” due to the amount of stories that took place on this 11-mile hike. But that’s another post at another time…
Anyway, back to what I was saying…we hiked to the top of Mt. LeConte. About halfway to the top, I looked out ( which is the exact moment and spot the above photo took place) and stood in awe at God’s creations. I have made many trips to the mountains. Although this trip was to the Great Smokey Mountains instead of the Rockies, I have made many trips. Some how, this was a trip I would never forget.
I have not been on a family vacation since Thanksgiving 2014. So this family vacation was already needed. I have been under so much stress that I basically forgot to breathe and take in what God has made. I started thinking about how selfish I have been. I started seeing thinking differently at that exact moment.
God, you created all these things. Things that I have found ugly, you made beautiful and my eyes were deceiving me. From the beauty of mountains to the beauty of every single fish in the ocean, you made them.
I look at all you created and stand in awe. You created every single thing by hand. You created things in their unique way. That puts me in tears. God, I am amazed by you. I find myself asking, ” How can anyone look at this and say there is not a God? ” There is. There is our heavenly father that created these things. You are truly amazing. I am proud to say I am a child of your kingdom.
